CINDY CHEUNG
Owner, KIOKKO Bebe Couture
My name is Cindy. I am the owner of KIOKKO Bebe Couture, a handmade baby accessories company based in Montreal. I am a proud mama to a little lady, Maya, who is 4 years old. I am also a wife to an amazing man, Sihai, who has been there for me every step of the way.
Secrets of a WOWMOM
Learn to find joy in the little moments. Cultivate the attitude of gratitude. Stay true to who you are. Spread happy thoughts. Have faith.
What inspires me
My daughter Maya inspires me. She inspires me to be my best self. I love seeing her feel joy in the little things, and the way she sees the world through rose-colored glasses warms my heart.
My mom is also my inspiration. She is my biggest cheerleader and I strive to be a mom just like her. She inspires me to be the best I can be with her endless well of generosity, understanding and kindness. I feel blessed to have such an amazing role model who has been such a great support system and a fountain of love for me.
My sanity saviour (tips & time savers)
My wonderful cleaning team and my PVR.
My best WOWMOM advice
Love what you do. Seize meaningful moments. Don’t feel guilty about taking time out for yourself as it will only make you a better and happier mom. Take chances and live in the moment.
My WOW moment
One day, Maya walked into her room, looked around and said, “Mommy, I have so many toys. I want to donate it to kids who are not as fortunate”. At that moment, I felt a sense of pride and joy that I had something to do with it.
My not-so WOW moment
Sometimes, for selfish reasons, I force Maya to take a nap even if she doesn’t need one, just so that I can get some shut-eye too.
Keeping it WOW (how not to lose yourself)
I think it’s important to create moments for yourself in order to be able refresh, revive and to recharge.
Favourite MOMent of the day
Nothing is better than snuggling in bed with my daughter, and I love when my husband gets home from work.
Does balance exist?
I think finding work-life balance is a continuous process. It takes a lot of planning and focusing on your priorities. Getting organized is key (something I’m constantly trying to work on). Plus, it’s important to be flexible.
My guardian angel
My late grandmother is my guardian angel. Although she is no longer with us, she will always be my greatest hero. She has instilled in me strength, kindness, commitment and courage. She has influenced me in ways I’m still discovering. I can still hear her voice and continuously feel her presence.
The last time I laughed out loud
My 4-year-old whispered in my ear the other day, “Mom, I want to be a baby again, I don’t want to be a kid anymore”.
Words Of Wisdom (Mom’s message to My Kids)
Appreciate beauty. Look for the good in others. Be thankful. Be kind, humble and helpful. Be more loving, sensitive and friendly. Try your best. ‘Please’ and ‘thank you’ will always be magic words. Love generously.
